With the aim of satisfying increasingly demanding customers and the ever-higher standards required in the stone industry, Prometec and Bidese Qteq present ONE SHOT SLAB, a new production process for the creation of the so-called “lightweight” materials, developing complete systems that, starting from the block, lead to the production of lightweight and exquisite slabs ready to be used in design projects.
Bidese Qteq has realized Unique 8, the first multi-wire machine capable of cutting 8mm thick slabs from the original block.
PROMETEC has developed SURFACE PLUS, a new bonding process for noble materials on lightweight material panels using two-component resins, which gives the finished product better mechanical characteristics compared to traditional products.
The system implemented by Prometec allows perfect adhesion of the slabs to the panel, reducing air bubbles that were created during the bonding phase, eliminating moisture during the catalysis stage, and achieving uniform pressure on the entire slab, ultimately improving the mechanical performance of the sandwich, defined as a combination of the slab, panel and resin.
With Unique 8, we obtain 8mm thick stone slabs that can be bonded directly using SURFACE PLUS, ensuring perfect adhesion between noble materials and lightweight panels, eliminating air bubbles and significantly improving the strength of the resulting “lightweight product”.
The final product can then be processed like a traditional slab within Prometec’s high-tech production lines, saving time and avoiding the expensive “splitting” phase.
